The Real Truth About CBD and How It Can Affect Your Golf Game

It’s almost impossible to go five minutes without hearing about CBD. Everything from lotion to sports drinks seems to have some hemp or cannabidoil integration, but what really is CBD?

For starters, let's get one thing clear: CBD does not get you “high.” It has been said to promote relaxation, relieve pain, and assist in post-workout recovery. It might even help your golf game.

It won't get you stoned, but some of these products may help ease those first-tee jitters, along with keeping you loose while you're working your way to hole 18.

Despite varying opinions on its actual effectiveness, acceptance of CBD is growing. Colorado-based Functional Remedies even signed up PGA Tour Champions player Scott McCarron as an endorser in 2018. So whose to say that Budz Family CBD may not work for you?

How Does CBD Work?

The primary reason why hemp-derived CBD may provide overall wellness is because it is directly connected to the Endocannabinoid System.

CBD fits into the receptors of this system, promoting development and healing to neurotransmitters that are worn down due to stress or inflammation. CBD can help regulate this system and the processes involved with homeostasis, which is the internal balance required for survival. When your body has internal or external forces that disrupt this balance, homeostasis kicks in to bring your body back to center. Since your Endocannabinoid system helps regulate everything from mood, perception of pleasure and pain, the benefits of using CBD can possibly help your body function more effectively and maintain overall wellness.

Start Small, Increase As Needed

Regardless of how you take CBD, always start small and build on the dosage. Some products may take up to an 1.5 hours to take effect, so don’t overdo it early on.

Since it does take some time for your body to absorb CBD, be sure to take your first dose about 30 minutes before you tee off.

Also, be sure to check with your doctor to clear any medical interactions. CBD can raise levels of medications in your body similar to the reaction grapefruit juice can have on medicine.
